Boston Subway or T (MBTA):

Boston MBTA has 5 Subway lines and is called T:
• Blue Line
• Green Line
• Orange Line
• Red Line (Ashmont–Mattapan High-Speed Line)
• Silver Line

The Boston MBTA system operates with the T lines running to and from the central Boston area.

The various subway lines do not consistently run in any given compass direction, so directions refer to line directions as "inbound" or "outbound". Inbound trains travel towards the four downtown transfer stations, and outbound trains travel away from these hub stations.

Boston Public Bus:

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) operates 178 bus routes in the Greater Boston area.

Boston Hop-on Hop-off Bus:

If you just want convenience, try one of the Boston Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tours which offer stops at attractions in Boston: 

Trolley Tour (Hop on Hop off) and Boston Duck Tours both which are included in the Go Boston Card by Smart Destinations.  

This is a good deal if you plan to go to many attractions in the Boston Area in limited 2-3 days time!

Food  in Boston

Boston is a food haven and great for hearty food. 

Boston has all the traditional seafood like famous lobster but eating in Boston is much more!

Make sure you don’t leave Boston without trying:

- Fresh Cannoli at any of the North End bakeries like Mike’s and Modern Pastry

Safety and Health in Boston

Although Boston  is pretty safe, it is a city and you should consider these safety tips:

Don't wear expensive jewelry and flash cash around.

Don't leave anything inside your car unless it is in the trunk.   

Always know where you are going and how to get there before you leave. 

Make sure to avoid some of the rougher neighborhoods (South Boston) at night.
