Jagalchi Market - Busan

The Jagalchi Market (자갈치시장) is Korea's largest seafood market. If you visit you can eat sashimi right at the market.
When in the market you will see live sea life, like sea squirts (ascidians) ready to be sold and eaten.
The market is busy with vendors selling and cleaning fish and other seafood items Warning, it is wet on the floor so be aware of your surroundings!
Be adventurous because this is a must see!

Getting There


Take Busan subway line 1 to Jagalchi Station ( Exit 10)
Walk towards the water on Jagalchi 3(sam)-gil Street.
Walk to end of the street to Jagalchi Market




•There is often water on the floor and sometimes some seafood remnants so wear appropriate shoes.
• If you like sashimi, purchase something and eat it right there. They will clean it for you and even sometimes offer you condiments like spicy red pepper paste- dip your seafood in. Purchase from vendors inside the main building.
• The best time to go to the market is in the afternoon. The crowds are less and it is a bit more leisurely.
• You can combine this attraction with BIFF Square and Songdo Beach (Take Metro Line No. 1 and get off at Jagalchi.(Exit 3) Take Bus No. 96) for a full day of viewing.
