The UN Memorial Cemetery - Busan - Travel Guide


The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan honors the services and sacrifices made by UN forces during the Korean War.

The government of Korea donated this land to the UN as a cemetery in August 1955.

The main area of the cemetery is where most of the fallen from Australia, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Turkey, U.K. and USA are interred.

The national flags of twenty-one nations who participated in the war on behalf of UN and Korea fly every day, as well as the interred from 11 nations such as Norway, South Africa, Thailand, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Greece.
