Fukuoka : Nanzoin Temple and the Reclining Buddha - Travel Guide

 

Nanzoin Temple is one of Japan’s Three Major Prayer Spots on the Shikoku pilgrimage is a head temple of Sasaguri Shikoku.

Nanzoin Temple is famous for its large bronze Reclining Buddha statue.

The statue The Reclining Buddha's statue is 41 meters in length, 11 meters in height, and weighing in at 300 tons.

Getting There

 

By JR Train:
Take a JR Sasaguri Line to Kido Nanzoin Mae Station
Follow signs. By walk is 3-5 mins away from Kido Nanzoin Mae Station.

•This is an active temple and many people come to pray so please be respectful when visiting.
• Wear good shoes and bring water as temple complex is large
