Hiroshima - Atomic Bomb Dome - Travel Guide


Atomic Bomb Dome or Genbaku Dōmu is commonly referred to as the Hiroshima Peace.

The A-Bomb Dome lies within the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

After the Atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, this building was the only structure left standing near the bomb’s hypocenter.

It is currently a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Getting There

 

From the JR Hiroshima Station (South exit),

By bus
Take a Hiroshima Bus (red bus) bound for Yoshijima and exit at
Heiwa Kinen Koen (Peace Memorial Park).

By streetcar
take a streetcar bound for Eba or Miyajima-guchi
exit at Genbakudomu-mae (the A-bomb Dome).

 

Recommendations

 

This attraction will take 5-15 minutes alone or several hours combined with the rest of Peace park and museum.
• You will not be able to go into the building. It is fenced and no tours are given.
