Hong Kong Local Stores - Helpful Information for New Visitors

Hong Kong Convenience stores are truly convenient and interesting tourist sites unto themselves.

Most Convenience Stores in Hong Kong are open 24x7, they are super easy to find.

Conveniently located at MTR stations, and along the streets in all neighborhoods.

There is always a Store close by for a quick stop in Hong Kong.

Pharmacy and Grocery stores in Hong Kong are spread all around town and are easy to locate.

Convenience Stores in Hong Kong

Hong Kong has more than 950+ 7-11 Convenience stores. You will find circle K and also many mom and pop shops

Most Hong Kong Convenience stores are small but they are packed with goodies to explore.

You will find most items that you may need.

Look around at the Chinese candy especially the gummy ones, Tea style drinks, and toys.

They make for interesting souvenirs.

You will also find personal hygiene products, magazines, alcohol,  fast food, and my favorite the egg salad and tuna sandwich...yum...don't balk until you have tried it.  Simple and fresh!

Convenience Stores also offer frequent buyer rewards programs.

For example, if you spend a certain amount in the store you get a stamp which gets you a gift made especially for this promotion.

Some are pretty cool like we saw a promotion for a collection of Hello Kitty Thermos during our stay in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Convenience Stores are convenient for another reason and that is the Octopus Card.

You can buy Octopus Card and refill the balance of money on your Octopus Card.

Give $50 or $100 note cash to the attendant, hold your Octopus Card up to the specified Octopus Card spot at the cash register, wait for the beep, and check your new balance on the screen... it is that easy to reload Octopus Card.
