In Hong Kong, banknotes or bills are issued and shared by HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, and Bank of China. 

When it comes to Hong Kong Currency, You might see different variations in design and color of single denomination Bills/Notes.

The Hong Kong Government, through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, has authorized these three Commercial banks to issue currency Notes/Bills.

Money Exchange (Cash) in Hong Kong

Usually, the airport, hotels, and currency exchange brokers in major shopping malls have the worst rates and charge higher commissions.  

We suggest changing only the minimal required amounts at Airport or Hotels for immediate use in Hong Kong.

     - Causeway Bay has many Currency Exchange counters at walking distance of Causeway Bay MTR station

2). Central and Sheung Wan area

    - In Central near Central MTR Station on Des Voeux Road, there are few Currency Exchange counters

    - Outside Sheung Wan MTR Exit B there are many local Money Exchange counters

Credit cards

Your credit card provides you with a good exchange rate for purchases in Hong Kong.
