A white placard is supposed to be placed on the front passenger side of a taxi with a photo and information.

Taxi at Honolulu Airport :

Taxis are readily available at Honolulu Airport. 

AMPCO Express is the managing contractor of the Airport’s Open Taxi System at Honolulu International Airport. 

The state established this Airport Open Taxi Management system for HNL Airport.

HNL Airport Open Taxi Management system allows all taxi companies to pick up passengers at the Honolulu airport.

At Honolulu Airport, Taxi Service is available on the center median fronting the terminal baggage claim areas.

See the taxi dispatchers (yellow shirts with black lettering and the wording “TAXI DISPATCHER” for service. Fare is by meter only.

Taxis are a good choice if you are traveling in a group of 3 or more. 

 

Taxi in Honolulu :

It is easier to go to a designated taxi stand in Waikiki, Honolulu, rather than hailing them on the street.

In Honolulu, you can find taxi stands at most major shopping centers like:

- Ala Moana Mall,

- in the Downtown Honolulu business district,

- all major tourist attractions, and

- Waikiki area hotels.

You can also ask your hotel concierge or phone a taxi service yourself.


Uber and Lyft are also available in Honolulu (Oahu, Hawaii).
