Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Airport code KUL) is located about 45KM (28Miles) south of Kuala Lumpur (KL) City.


This Kuala Lumpur Airport (aka KLIA) has two main terminals - Main Terminal (KLIA or KLIA1) and Terminal 2 (KLIA2).

Both KLIA and KLIA2 Terminals at KL Airport serves Domestic and International Flights.


International passengers arriving at KL airport should clear Immigration, Baggage Claim, and Customs at respective Terminal KLIA or KLIA2.

Please note that all baggage including Carry-on hand luggage will go through X-ray scan machines in the Customs area at KUL Airport.

In the Arrival hall of KLIA and KLIA 2 terminal at Kuala Lumpur Airport, you will find many currency exchange counters open 24 hours.


In the Arrival Halls of both terminals at Kuala Lumpur Airport, you will find signs for Taxi, Airport Pickup, Bus, and KLIA Ekspres station.

KLIA Ekspres train connects KL Sentral (Kuala Lumpur city main transit station) to Kuala Lumpur Airport with stops at KLIA and KLIA2 terminal.

Kuala Lumpur Airport to City by Express Train

Trains from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to the City :

Kuala Lumpur has two Terminals - Main Terminal (KLIA), and Terminal 2 (KLIA2).

From KLIA and KLIA2 Terminals you can take the below trains to KL Sentral station :

1). KLIA Express train (Express with no in-between stops with the fastest connection to KL City) or

2). KL Transit train (Commuter train, therefore, makes stops)

KL Sentral station is in Kuala Lumpur City Center and is a Main Transit Station for KL.


Follow the signs to the "KLIA Ekspres" train station from KUL Main Terminal (KLIA) or Terminal 2 (KLIA2)

The entrance to the KLIA Ekspres and KL transit trains are located at Level 1.


A single ride ticket card can be purchased at the train station located in the main Transit Concourse at Level 1 in both terminals, or

Purchase KLIA Ekspres online before you land in Kuala Lumpur and skip long ticket lines.

Take either train and exit at KL Sentral Station.

If staying at a hotel at KL Sentral then walk to your hotel.

If staying at the KLCC area then take the LRT train, Kelana Jaya Line, to KLCC Station or a Taxi from KL Sentral station to your hotel.


LRT, KTM Commuter & Metro trains run all over the city from KL Sentral Station.


Several taxi companies also have their desks upstairs in the station concourse level at KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur.


The last train that connects KLIA Terminal to KL Sentral station leaves at 12:30 AM after midnight.

Kuala Lumpur Airport to City by Bus

 

Bus at Kuala Lumpur Airport :

Follow the signs to the Public Bus station from Arrival halls at KLIA (Terminal 1) & KLIA Terminal 2.

In terminal 1, the Public Bus Station is in the next building on the ground level of the car park.

You will see ticket desks for Bus companies inside the bus station, or

Purchase Bus Ticket Online before you arrive in Kuala Lumpur for transfer to KL Sentral from KILA2.

At KUL Airport bus station, Buses pull outside to pickup and drop-off passengers.

Many Bus companies from KLIA (Terminal 1) & KLIA 2 (Terminal 2) go to KL Sentral and other locations in Kuala Lumpur.

Bus companies serving Kuala Lumpur Airport are Star Shuttle, Aerobus, Express operates bus and many others.

Most tourists staying at KL Sentral take a bus from Kuala Lumpur Airport to KL Sentral.


The bus ride takes about 1 hour or more depending on traffic from any Kuala Lumpur International Airport terminal to KL Sentral.

Follow the signs to Yellow color Pre-Paid Taxi and a Van Coupon counter in Arrival hall at KLIA (Terminal 1) & KLIA 2 (Terminal 2).

Purchase pre-paid taxi ticket/coupon in the arrivals hall at KL Airport to avoid being overcharged.

Taxi is a good economical option at Kuala Lumpur Airport if you have more than 2 people in your group.
