Hotels are also available in the surrounding areas of the Strip and downtown area.

Recommendation

Vegas hotels on the Strip are generally more expensive. 

All Las Vegas hotels with Casinos allow smoking on the casino floor.

It is best to come during the Weekdays for better rates and less crowds.

If you are not gambling and have a car, it may be better to stay at an off Strip hotel. 
Off Strip Hotels are generally less expensive, offer free parking, and offer a more relaxed atmosphere.
