New York City - Times Square and Broadway - Travel guide



Times Square is a must-do if you are in New York City for the 1st time.  

The Times Square Alliance's district covers from 40th Street to 53rd Street between 6th and 8th Avenues, as well as 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue.

You will find over 39 theaters (stage and movie), 200 plus dining options, and 40 hotels surrounded by giant, lit billboards and outdoor screens.  

Times Square is colorful in it of itself and then add the street entertainers, wow!  People Watching galore.
Attractions in the TS area include:  Madame Tussauds, Ripley's Believe It Or Not!, THE RIDE, Discovery Times Square

While in the Times Square area,  go to a live Broadway show.

Broadway refers to the 40+ professional theaters located in the Theater District and Lincoln Center along Broadway, in midtown Manhattan near Times Square.

Many of the shows are award-winning musicals, comedies, and dramas. 
You can purchase tickets online or at the box office. 

It is best to buy ahead so that you have the show for the time and day you want.

• Good Morning America films at Times Square so if inclined go watch them.

• Try one of the discounted ticket venues like the TDF online app first. 
   You won’t have to stay several hours in line.   
• If you are visiting multiple attractions in NYC, purchase a City Pass or Explorer Card for discounts
Standing only tickets are difficult and are not recommended especially with young children as they will not be able to see.

• Check out any of the many tours like the ones available for Times Square. 
   Visit the Visitors Center and Museum for information.
