Portland - Pittock Mansion

 

The Pittock Mansion, built as a home for The Oregonian publisher Henry Pittock in the 19th century, is a restored 23-room mansion built on 46 acres with panoramic views of Downtown Portland.

It is currently owned by the city's Bureau of Parks and Recreation and open for self guided or docent guided tours.
There are trails available for hiking too. Nice spot for pictures.

Getting There

 

Car:
From Downtown
• On W Burnside go West.
• Immediately after passing NW 23rd, there is a sign for the Pittock Mansion at a yellow flashing light.
• Turn right here onto NW Barnes road. Follow the signs

Bus:
• Take the TRIMET 33- McLoughlin Bus to Portland
• Exit on SW 6th and W Burnside
• Take the TRIMET 20- Burnside/ Stark to Beaverton
• Exit at W Burnside and NW Barnes
• Walk ¾ mile to Pittock Mansion

Recommendations

 

• The mansion will take you 1 to 2 hours at most if you don’t take a hike.
• Take a hike and look around the grounds! Great place for pictures.
• Come early and park your car in the parking lot if there is room. The park gets full fast after 10AM.
• You will be walking so wear comfortable shoes,and bring water, snacks, and sunscreen/ hat.
• If staying downtown and don’t mind a walk, buy an all day pass and take the Trimet bus to the Park.
