Taipei Zoo - Helpful Information for Visitors


Taipei Zoo is one of the largest zoos in Asia with a diverse variety of animals and zoological gardens.

Taipei Zoo also referred to as "Muzha Zoo", is a public zoological garden in Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Don’t miss the giant Panda exhibit in this Zoo in Taipei.

Things to see at Taipei Zoo are:

1). Giant Pandas "Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan" - at Giant Panda Exhibit,

2). Pangolin dome - built to raise public awareness about wildlife trafficking, especially Pangolin in Taiwan,

3). Children's Zoo - local domestic animals like goats, ducks, mini horse, pigs, etc,

4). The Aviary (large Cage) with over 12000 birds of over 130 species, and much more

You can take an internal tram inside the Taipei Zoo from exhibit areas to ease the walking as this is a large zoo.

Getting There

 

By Taipei MRT to Taipei Zoo:

- Take the Wenhu Line MRT (line 1, mustard color) to the Taipei Zoo Station

- Take Exit 1 at the Taipei Zoo MRT station and follow signs to Taipei Zoo

Recommendation

Tips for visiting Taipei Zoo:

- The amount of time you spend depends on your interest.

  If you see all the animal exhibits it will take 4-7 hours.

- Take the Shuttle tram inside Taipei Zoo to rest and save energy

- Come early and see the Pandas first with no pressure from those behind you in line at Taipei Zoo

- You will be walking outside most of the time so wear comfortable shoes, and bring snacks, water, and sunscreen/ hat.

- Good to combine with the Maokong Gondola for a relaxed sit down to the top after the zoo.
