Tokyo Disney - Travel Guide

Tokyo Disney Resort has two theme parks Disneyland and Disney Sea in the Tokyo Disney Resort area.

Tokyo Disney Resort area is located just outside of Tokyo in Chiba prefecture alongside Tokyo Bay.

Tokyo Disney Resort has its own monorail train line connecting JR Maihama station to Disneyland and Disney Sea as well as the hotels in the Disney resort area.

Tokyo Disneyland has its seven themed lands offering fun attractions and fantastic entertainment with restaurants and shops.

It is similar to other Disneylands with a local twist here and there.

Tokyo DisneySea has an oceanic theme.

A few rides offer opportunities to get soaked so come prepared.

You will see many people walking around with towels and bags of wet clothes.

DisneySea has 7 “ports of call” areas: Mediterranean Harbor, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, and American Waterfront.

The Parks has a mix of rides and attractions from Disney parks in Anaheim & Orlando, and a few unique to DisneySea.

The design of the Park is first class as is typical of Disney with great views of Tokyo Bay.

Recommendation and Tips for visiting Tokyo Disneyland or Disney Sea

- One Park attraction will take one day or more depending on your group.

- Go early and on weekdays if possible. There are long queues everywhere.

- Use the FastPass to reduce the wait time for popular rides.
More information on FastPass available on Tokyo Disney Parks Website.

- If the FastPass is sold out, consider riding as a single rider option.
This is sometimes faster than the fastpass.

- There are discounted tickets available if you want to stroll around the park, and ride a couple of rides:
   - Starlight Passports - Park admission from 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays only. 5400 Yen
   - After 6 Passports - Park admission from 6 p.m. on weekdays, excluding National Holidays. 4200 Yen

- On a clear day make sure to sit somewhere with a view of the sunset, it is spectacular!

- Take a jacket or light sweater because it can be very windy even in the warmer months as it is next to Tokyo bay.

- You will be outside waiting in line so make sure to wear sunscreen in summer, and bring a water bottle.

- DisneySea, unlike it counterpart Disneyland, serves alcoholic beverages.
