Getting to Shinjuku Gyoen in Tokyo

Shinjuku Gyeon by JR Train :

- Take JR Line to Shinjuku Station
- Exit train at Shinjuku Station and head towards "South Exit"
- As soon as you get out of South Exit turn left on main road (don't cross the road)
- Follow the main road on sidewalk (South East)
- Walk for about 10 minutes, 3 intersections and road become small,
- Look for Shinjuku Gyoen Gate Signs on left of the road where it becomes small
- Shinjuku Gate of Shunjuku Gate will be left hand side (You will not miss it)

Please note that this Tokyo Shinjuku Gyoen Garden has 3 Gates/Entrances :
1). Shinjuku Gate (North side)
2). Okido Gate (East side), and
3). Sendagaya Gate (South side)

 

Recommendation and Tips for visiting

 

- Shinjuku Gyoen attraction will can take 2 or more hours depending on your interest.

- Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as you will be outdoors for the most part.

- Please be respectful of the plants and grounds. This attraction is strictly for viewing and walking.

- Come in Spring and see the cherry blossoms, or in the Fall to see the changing color of the leave.

- Visit large Greenhouse located by the Ookido Gate at this Shinjuku Gyoen Park in Tokyo.
