SkyTrain in Vancouver

SkyTrain Vancouver :

SkyTrain in Vancouver is an automated light rapid transit system covering Greater Vancouver area.

The Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines connect downtown Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster and Surrey.

The Canada Line connects downtown Vancouver to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the city of Richmond.

Three Bus Companies operate Bus service in Greater Vancouver area :

1). Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) - (Owned by TransLink and operates 96% of routes and area)
2). Blue Bus operated by West Vancouver Municipality, and
3). First Transit (Contracted by TransLink and runs 9 community shuttle route)

TransLink CMBC by far has extensive and busy public bus network in Vancouver area.

TransLink claims that 80% of Metro Vancouver population has bus stop within 400 meters of their home.

TransLink CMBC also operate 10 Night Bus routes for downtown Vancouver 7 days a week.

TransLink Blue Bus

TransLink Public Blue Bus lines 97 and 99 can take Vancouver visitors :

- from the ferry at Horseshoe Bay,
- within West Vancouver,
- to Lions Bay, downtown Vancouver,
- North Vancouver,
- Capilano University or UBC.

SeaBus Vancouver

SeaBus Vancouver :

SeaBus is a passenger only ferry that crosses the Burrard Inlet, connecting downtown Vancouver with the North Shore.

Ferries depart every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. Crossing time is about 15 minutes.

There are two terminals:
(1) Waterfront downtown Vancouver (connects with buses, SkyTrain)
(2) Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver (connects with North Shore busses).
