Miami Airport is located 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Downtown Miami, FL.

Miami Airport has three active passenger terminals - North Terminal, Central Terminal, and South Terminal.

These three terminals at Miami International Airport have 6 six concourses arranged in inverted U shape.

- Central Terminal - Concourse E(18 Gates), F (19 Gates), and G (14 Gates)

Transfer between Terminals at Miami Airport

Passengers can walk between any of MIA's three terminals, either pre-security or post-security.

Post-Security Passengers can also take in the North Terminal - Concourse D from one end to another.

Pre-Security, moving walkways on Level 3 called the Skyride Connector to connect to all terminals and concourses.

Arriving passengers at the Miami International Airport (MIA)

Miami International Airport is the second busiest airport in the US by International Flights and International Traffic.

Miami Airport has 3 Immigration and Customs areas to handle International Arrivals:

- Central Terminal E, on the 1st level

- North Terminal D, on the 1st level.

- South Terminal J, on the 3rd level.

International arrivals will be directed to one of these Immigration and Customs facilities upon arrival, depending on the Terminal.

All International MIA Arrivals (passengers) have to go through Immigration, pick up all checked bags, and clear Customs in the MIA Airport.

International arriving passengers can take the elevator to the 2nd level to connect to other airlines or gates.

Taxis Pickup areas are located on the airport's arrival (ground) level, outside of the baggage claim areas.

Follow the "Taxi" Signs from the Babbage claim area and exit terminal doors to reach the nearest Taxi Pickup area at MIA Airport.

Two options are available for Taxi depending on where are you going:

1). Metered Taxi at Miami Airport 

    - $4.50 for the first 1/6 mile and $.40 for each additional 1/6 mile, which equals $6.90 for the first mile and $2.40 for each additional mile.

       The waiting time is $.40 per minute. Passengers also have to pay a $2.00 airport origination fee (or Airport Surcharge). Plus Highway Tolls.

2). Flat Rate Taxi at Miami Airport

   - Flat rates are available for Zone 1-5 and Port of Miami.

     The flat rate includes a $2.00 airport origination fee (or Airport Surcharge) and Highway Tolls.

   Zone 1 - US$ 55.00 - Includes the area of Golden Beach and Sunny Isles 

   Zone 2 - US$ 46.00 - Includes the area of Haulover Beach, Bal Harbor, and Surfside

   Zone 3 - US$ 40.00 - Includes the area of Miami Beach area from 64th Street till 87th Terrance

   Zone 4 - US$ 35.00 - Includes the area of South Beach

   Zone 5 - US$ 44.00 - Key Biscayne area

Follow "Ride-App Pickup" signs outside on the airport's arrival (ground) level, outside of the baggage claim areas terminal exit gates.

Public Transportation at Miami Airport

Miami Metrorail at Miami Airport:

Miami Metrorail station at the Central Station serves as a last stop for the Orange line.

Passengers going towards Palmetto can transfer to the Green line at Earlington Heights station.

Orange Line - Connects to Dadeland North, South Miami, University, Douglas Road, Coconut Grove, Vizcaya, Brickell, Government Center, Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre, Culmer, Civic Center, Santa Clara, Allapattah, or Earlington Heights stations.

Green Line - Connects to Palmetto, Okeechobee, Hialeah, Tri-Rail, Northside, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. or Brownsville, or Earlington Heights stations.

Miami Metrorail runs every 30 mins on weekdays and 15 mins during weekends and peak hours.

Route 150 Miami Beach Airport Express Bus connects Miami Airport to Miami Beach (from 41st Street to South Pointe Drive).

Miami Beach Airport Express stop is located at the Central Station.

This Miami Beach bus runs every 20 minutes from 6AM - 11:40PM daily from the Central station (MIA Transportation Hub) to the Miami Beach area.

Tri-Rail at Miami Airport:

Tri-Rail is a commuter train that connects Miami Airport from MIA Central Station (transportation hub) to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

Follow signs from Baggage Claim to the MIA Mover, and once you get off at MIA Central station, follow signs "Rental Cars" to the Rental Car Center at Miami Airport.
